THE CORONAVIRUS OUTBREAK

As of Monday, March 23rd, Florida saw an increase in coronavirus cases, swelling to 1,171, including 89 in Palm Beach County. The latest death being an 84-year-old county woman who died overnight, pushing the death toll to 14. In the U.S. the number of cases tops 35,300 and 473 people have died.

Symptoms of the coronavirus include a fever, cough, difficulty breathing,  and/or a sore throat. Older adults and those with existing health problems can develop severe complications including respiratory illness and pneumonia. Some have said it feels as if you were drowning.

People can catch the coronavirus from others who already have the virus. The disease can spread from person to person through small droplets from the nose or mouth when the person coughs or exhales. These droplets can land on objects and surfaces. If someone were to touch these contaminated areas, and then continue to touch their face, they can also contract the disease.

If you or your children feel sick, stay at home. If someone in your household has tested positive for the coronavirus, keep the entire household at home. If you are an older person or have a serious underlying health condition, stay home and away from other people. Practice social distancing by avoiding social gathering in groups of more than 10 people, and keep a 6-foot distance from each other. Wash your hands for at least 20 seconds, especially after touching any frequently used item or surface. Avoid touching your face. If you must sneeze or cough, cover your mouth. As well as disinfect frequently used items and surfaces as much as possible.

The Found Care health center in Palm Springs is offering coronavirus drive-through testing by appointment only. Drive through testing areas will soon be coming to the Doris Ison Health Center, Cleveland Clinic Florida, Broward Health, as well as the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens.

During this time Palm Coast Pest Control is open for business, but we are suspending all interior services until further notice. Thank you for your patience in this matter, and we hope that everyone stays safe in this trying time.
