A case of West Nile Virus was reported recently in Palm Beach County. There has been a jump in mosquito-borne disease activity in our area, and we want to make sure you know how to reduce mosquitoes around your home.
- Mosquitoes breed in standing water, so drain any containers that water has been collected.
- Discard old and broken appliances from around the home.
- Empty and clean bird bathes and outside pet bowls twice a week.
- Protect all vehicles with tarps to avoid water build up.
- Maintain pools with chlorine.
- Cover your skin with clothing or repellent.
